Marcus Hübner, owner and managing director, was born on 09/08/1966 in Trier. Starting at a young age, he gathered insight and experience in piano making in the piano workshop of his father. In 1984 he started his 42-month long training as a piano maker at the renowned piano manufacturer SCHIMMEL, in Braunschweig. In 1987 he won the 2nd prize at the national piano tuning competition held by the Federation of German Piano Makers (BDK). In 1989 he founded his company Pianohaus Marcus Hübner. In 1995 Mr Hübner completed his masterpiece at the SEILER company in Kitzingen and was awarded with the Master Craftsman’s Certificate for piano and harpsichord manufacture. Pianohaus Marcus Hübner has offered its own house brand of upright and grand pianos, M. HÜBNER, since 2002.
Master of piano and harpsichord building
Jens Wagner, born on 21/03/1967 in Frankfurt am Main, learned the trade of piano making from 1984 to 1987 at the acclaimed piano manufacturer, C. Bechstein. After completing his training, Mr Wagner intended to study music at university and successfully passed the entry examinations for a course in piano studies. Unfortunately, compulsory military service got in the way, which was then followed by self-employment as a piano maker in Calw. In 1996 he joined us as a piano builder, contributing his skills both to our support service and our workshop. In September 2005, Mr Wagner successfully completed the examinations for the Master Craftsman’s Certificate in Munich and graduated with honors.
Piano and harpsichord maker
Hardi Waibel was born on 23/08/1980 in Trier. During his studies in mechanical engineering, Mr Waibel joined our company as a transport agent. Here he gained insight into the art of piano building which encouraged him, as a musically and technically talented A-Level student, to take up the trade of piano building. We are delighted that he decided to join our team in February, 2011 after successfully completing his apprenticeship in piano building here. Hardi Waibel supports our staff in repairs and restorations and continues working in the field
Piano and harpsichord Builder and workshop manager
Maik Wirtz was born in May 1994 in Trier. His love for music began at the tender age of 4 in early music education. After playing several other instruments, he started playing the piano in 2003. At the same time he began his singing career with the “Trier Sängerknaben” (boy’s choir). He continues to play piano and sing with enthusiasum to this day. He was introduced to piano building during an internship with us during high school. He decided quickly that this profession would be the ideal combination of handicraft and hobby. He started his professional training in 2012, completing it in 2015 with distinction. With his friendly and even-tempered character, his skilled craftsmanship and his musical knowledge he has quickly become a valued addition to our team.
Piano and harpsichord Builder
Lukas Harth was born on 23.02.1995 in Siegburg. Already at the age of 6 he received piano lessons, which was the beginning of his very musical career: For 15 years now he plays guitar as another instrument, meanwhile even in a band, and also took singing lessons for 5 years. After graduating from high school, he first studied musicology and art history in Bonn, but soon noticed that he was missing the technical aspect. Thus Lukas decided to train as a piano builder, which he completed at Klavierbau Lintzen in Königswinter and completed successfully in July 2017. A short time later he applied for an internship with us and convinced us above all with his manner and his craftsmanship. Since November 2017 he has been supporting our team in the field service.
Piano and harpsichord Builder in apprenticeship
Naruhiko Shigeta was born on 06.12.1991 in Gifu, Japan. He came into contact with music and piano playing at an early age, since he had been taking piano lessons since the age of four. He came to Germany in March 2012 with the aim of studying classical music. Here he first attended a language school to learn German and also used the time to prepare for the entrance examination. His actual studies at the Folkwang University in Essen, where he studied piano as a minor for the trombone, began for him in October 2013. During this time, however, he was lacking something decisive: the craftsmanship. In order to professionally combine music and craftsmanship, he applied for an apprenticeship as a piano and harpsichord builder in our piano house in the summer of 2017. Already after a week of rehearsal work with us it was clear that we had found the right apprentice with him. We are therefore very happy that he has been part of our team since September 2017.
Piano and harpsichord Builder in apprenticeship
David Herrmann was born on 26.12.1997 in Trier. At the age of eight his passion for pianos was ignited: he took classical lessons and then continued his education in music theory. This knowledge enables him to improvise while making music and thus to be even more creative. Piano and music also play an important role in David’s free time, as he is involved in the Parish, where he accompanies at the piano among other things.
In 2017 he applied for an apprenticeship with us, because the job as a piano builder offers him the opportunity to turn his longtime hobby into a profession. Not only this initiative impressed us, but also during an internship he quickly convinced us with his helpful and open manner and has been part of our team since September 2018.

In 1961, Mrs Hübner moved to Trier, where she had her first contact with customers of the piano trade as a secretary at the Musikhaus Schellenberg. Roman Reznic was born 05.09.1992 in Chinisau, Moldova. He first successfully completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk and worked for several years in this professional sector. However, he has always been attracted to studying psychology, which he began in Trier in October last year. Due to his well-founded musical education at the Saxon State High School for Music, Carl Maria von Weber, he inspires both customers and our team again and again with his high pianistic abilities. This experience of many years, having played on the best grand piano brands in the world during this time, of course benefits him particularly in sales. Since February 2017 he has enriched our sales team, maintains our website and is available to customers as a competent contact person for pianos and grand pianos.

Since October 2016, he has been actively supporting our in-house transport team, which gives customers “grand pianos” in every respect…

Farai Kadada was born in Essen in 1990. He is currently studying economics at the University of Trier. He became aware of our piano house through an acquaintance who has been a member of our transport team for a long time. The prospect of doing something “out of the ordinary” as a part-time job and thus having a change from the study routine immediately appealed to Farai. Therefore he joined our transport team in September 2014.

Michael Krusche was born in 1993 in Eschweiler. He became attentive to us and the possibility to turn his hobby, weight training, into a profession through Farai. Since February 2018 he is now part of our delivery team.
