In 1984 he started his 42-month long training as a piano maker at the renowned piano manufacturer SCHIMMEL, in Braunschweig. In 1987 he won the 2nd prize at the national piano tuning competition held by the Federation of German Piano Makers (BDK). In 1989 he founded his company Pianohaus Marcus Hübner. In 1995 Mr Hübner completed his masterpiece at the SEILER company in Kitzingen and was awarded with the Master Craftsman’s Certificate for piano and harpsichord manufacture. Master of piano and harpsichord building
Jens Wagner, born on 21/03/1967 in Frankfurt am Main, learned the trade of piano making from 1984 to 1987 at the acclaimed piano manufacturer, C. Bechstein. After completing his training, Mr Wagner intended to study music at university and successfully passed the entry examinations for a course in piano studies. Unfortunately, compulsory military service got in the way, which was then followed by self-employment as a piano maker in Calw. In 1996 he joined us as a piano builder, contributing his skills both to our support service and our workshop. In September 2005, Mr Wagner successfully completed the examinations for the Master Craftsman’s Certificate in Munich and graduated with honors.

Maik Wirtz was born in May 1994 in Trier. His love for music began at the tender age of 4 in early music education. After playing several other instruments, he started playing the piano in 2003. At the same time he began his singing career with the “Trier Sängerknaben” (boy’s choir). He continues to play piano and sing with enthusiasum to this day. He was introduced to piano building during an internship with us during high school. He decided quickly that this profession would be the ideal combination of handicraft and hobby. He started his professional training in 2012, completing it in 2015 with distinction. With his friendly and even-tempered character, his skilled craftsmanship and his musical knowledge he has quickly become a valued addition to our team.
Piano and Harpsichord Builder
Laurin Müller was born in 1994 in Bad Säckingen. During his youth he did not have much to do with music.
However, his sister’s piano playing inspired him at the age of 14 to try it out for himself and in no time he could not keep his fingers off the piano. He passion for music awakened, he tried out other instruments, like the guitar and the bass, which he continues to play today, whereby he largely plays by ear, almost completely foregoing sheet music. During his volunteer service in a music school he realised that the piano builder’s profession offered him what he was looking for. He has been our apprentice since September 2014, working with great motivation and joy. In July 2017 he successfully passed his journeyman’s examination and has been working in the field since then.
Piano and harpsichord Builder
Lukas Harth was born on 23.02.1995 in Siegburg. Already at the age of 6 he received piano lessons, which was the beginning of his very musical career: For 15 years now he plays guitar as another instrument, meanwhile even in a band, and also took singing lessons for 5 years. After graduating from high school, he first studied musicology and art history in Bonn, but soon noticed that he was missing the technical aspect. Thus Lukas decided to train as a piano builder, which he completed at Klavierbau Lintzen in Königswinter and completed successfully in July 2017. A short time later he applied for an internship with us and convinced us above all with his manner and his craftsmanship. Since November 2017 he has been supporting our team in the field service.
Piano and harpsichord Builder in apprenticeship
Naruhiko Shigeta was born on 06.12.1991 in Gifu, Japan. He came into contact with music and piano playing at an early age, since he had been taking piano lessons since the age of four. He came to Germany in March 2012 with the aim of studying classical music. Here he first attended a language school to learn German and also used the time to prepare for the entrance examination. His actual studies at the Folkwang University in Essen, where he studied piano as a minor for the trombone, began for him in October 2013. During this time, however, he was lacking something decisive: the craftsmanship. In order to professionally combine music and craftsmanship, he applied for an apprenticeship as a piano and harpsichord builder in our piano house in the summer of 2017. Already after a week of rehearsal work with us it was clear that we had found the right apprentice with him. We are therefore very happy that he has been part of our team since September 2017.
Mathilde Hübner was born in Oberhausen and embodies the good spirit of Pianohaus Hübner. Trained as a businesswoman, she left the Oberhausen city council in 1956 and subsequently worked at the BABCOCK company as an office clerk. She polished her English skills, gained during her employment at BABCOCK, during a year abroad in the United Kingdom. In 1961, Mrs Hübner moved to Trier, where she had her first contact with customers of the piano trade as a secretary at the Musikhaus Schellenberg. Since then, Mrs Hübner has remained true to keyboard instruments, and since her son established his own business, has been known among the customers of Pianohaus Marcus Hübner for her cordial, courteous and competent manner.

Having strengthened her English skills during an 8-month stay abroad, she is now also polishing her French language skills. In addition to her responsibilities for marketing, she is also happily at your disposal if you want to arrange a tuning appointment or if you have questions regarding a piano purchase or our piano rental system.

Roman Reznic was born 05.09.1992 in Chinisau, Moldova. He first successfully completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk and worked for several years in this professional sector. However, he has always been attracted to studying psychology, which he began in Trier in October last year. Due to his well-founded musical education at the Saxon State High School for Music, Carl Maria von Weber, he inspires both customers and our team again and again with his high pianistic abilities. This experience of many years, having played on the best grand piano brands in the world during this time, of course benefits him particularly in sales. Since February 2017 he has enriched our sales team, maintains our website and is available to customers as a competent contact person for pianos and grand pianos.

Denis Lauer was born in Saarburg in 1994. After completing his training as an electrical engineer, he also graduated as a technician. He became attentive to the piano house last year through good acquaintances. It quickly became clear that the transport of pianos and grand pianos was a particular challenge that Denis gladly faced. Farai Kadada was born in Essen in 1990. He is currently studying economics at the University of Trier. He became aware of our piano house through an acquaintance who has been a member of our transport team for a long time. The prospect of doing something “out of the ordinary” as a part-time job and thus having a change from the study routine immediately appealed to Farai. Therefore he joined our transport team in September 2014.
Janosch Stein was born in Wadern in 1994. He is currently studying industrial engineering in Trier and joined us on the recommendation of our colleague Denis. The transport of pianos and grand pianos was a completely new task for him and the question of being able to cope with it in a sporty way also spurred him on. What he appreciates most about us is the variety at work and, last but not least, the good working atmosphere. With every transport, his desire to learn to play the piano also grows. The prerequisites for a steep career are definitely given: In his spare time, Janosch and his band walk on musical paths…
Michael Krusche was born in 1993 in Eschweiler. He became attentive to us and the possibility to turn his hobby, weight training, into a profession through Farai. After he had proved himself by wearing it for a test and also by his friendly nature, it was only a question of time when he would start with us. Since February 2018 he is now part of our delivery team.
