YAMAHA b1

Was ist unverzichtbar?

YAMAHA NU1X Hybrid Upright Piano

YAMAHA – more than 100 years of piano building!

The superb natural feel of a real piano action

The NU1X represents the next evolution in hybrid piano technology melding the Yamaha pedigree of unparalleled piano craft with progressive digital innovation. Employing a real acoustic upright piano action that intuitively connects player and piano, the NU1X offers a gratifying dynamic experience. The result is an instrument that not only pays tribute to its acoustic counterpart but exceeds all expectations.

Legendary piano samples

To play an AvantGrand means access to the actual sound profile of two legendary concert grands: the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. Whether you prefer the bold, expansive palette of the CFX, or the warm, rich Vienna tones of the Imperial, switching between the two is simple.

Virtual Resonance Modelling

In a grand piano, sound resonates throughout the body of the instrument, producing a rich reverberation that envelops the listener in sound. This phenomena is reproduced perfectly in the NU1X through Virtual Resonance Modelling (VRM), which calculates the various states of the strings for each of the 88 notes on the keyboard from one instant to the next, allowing vivid, richly varied expression that reflects the limitless number of factors inherent in playing the piano such as which keys are pressed, the strength with which the keys are played and pedal timing.

Even headphones produce a larger than life experience

Headphone connectivity wasn’t just an added formality for the NU1X. Thanks to YAMAHA’s advanced binaural sampling technology, the sound you hear through your head- phones is remarkably lifelike. This technology uses piano samples recorded by specialised microphones that capture locational information and other nuances discerned by the human ear. The resulting sound is so natural, so enveloping, that you’ll soon forget you’re even wearing headphones at all. (CFX Grand Voice only)

Intelligent connectivity and integration

Behind its simple control panel, the NU1X hosts an abundance of connectivity options for maximum functionality and integration with external devices. It can be connected directly to computers and mobile devices via USB, sound and recording systems via audio cables, act as a Bluetooth receiver, and integrate with iOS apps via WiFi.

The rich sound of different sounds emanates from the entire piano
Choose from the sounds of a variety of instruments. Among them are two legendary concert grand pianos – Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial – as well as electric pianos, harpsichords, organs and many more. Only with TransAcoustic™ Pianos do these instruments sound out of the entire piano, creating an absolutely authentic acoustic sound experience.

With the Smart Pianist App, you can select the different sounds directly from your Smart Device.
The UD-WL01 USB W-LAN Adapter (sold separately) is required to establish a wireless connection between the Smart Pianist App and the piano.

The focus is on how the piano works: sound and resonance
When a key is struck, the hammer hits the strings and they start to vibrate. The original sound is gentle, but the soundboard amplifies it – with the entire body of the piano as the resonating body. This is how the unmistakable, rich sound of an acoustic piano is created. The TransAcoustic™ technology uses this mode of operation, where the soundboard transmits the sound without actually striking the strings.

Acoustic sound from digital sources
The TransAcoustic™ technology does not use speakers to reproduce the sound. Instead, sound transducers are used. The sound converters convert audio signals into vibrations that are then transmitted to the soundboard. The soundboard amplifies the vibrations and the whole piano starts to vibrate in unison. Since the contact area between the transducers and the soundboard is very small, the vibration of the soundboard is not affected. Digital audio sources also go through this process. In this way, you can experience the rich sound of an acoustic piano while listening.
